10/05/2018 News

Since last February, Spanish First Division team Levante UD and ThermoHuman have reached an agreement through which the main team will be using infrared thermography in the prevention of injuries and follow-up of the players’ physical condition. Thanks to thermography specialist, Dr. PhD Ismael Fernandez Cuevas, the team becomes part of the selective group of elite Spanish football clubs benefiting from this leading edge technology.

ThermoHuman is a Spanish tech company, pioneer in the application of infrared thermography for injury prevention and monitoring in sports and health sectors. With a 9-year R&D experience, more than 35 published research articles, and various innovation awards gained throughout their trajectory, ThermoHuman Works nowadays with several professional international football teams in countries such as UK, the Netherlands, France, Brazil, Mexico or the USA.

Their home-developed software uses artificial vision systems, machine learning and big data processes, which allows it to automatically analyze each player’s thermal images to detect and measure thermal asimmetries as well as injury risk ratios. The software carries out a profound and individual analysis of the athlete’s physical shape, with a descriptive and even predictive foundation.
